Aviation is particularly important. Airlines take many hundreds of thousands of people from Germany all over the world every year. The passengers visit friends and family, get to know far-off countries, travel to study or to business meetings. This not only encourages intercultural exchanges, but also has a positive impact on the labour market, gross domestic product and tax revenue. The Lufthansa Group is especially important here. No other airline in Europe is anywhere near as diverse.
